At Aalberts advanced mechatronics, we are evolving by reorganizing ourselves around value streams rather than functions. In this organizational model, cross-functional teams work together from the moment a customer requests a product until the moment they receive it. This approach is helping us improve coordination between departments, keep up with growth in our industry, and better serve our customers.
We will explain you a bit about what each value stream is all about and how our employees are experiencing this innovative new way of working. Here we speak with Margo Zantinge, process engineer at Mogema, about working within the value stream Defense.
What is your role within the value stream and what are your responsibilities?
My role in the Defense team is a combination of process engineering and work preparation. During the start-up of a project, my responsibilities include setting up the ERP system, working out production flows, and supporting the start-up of production of new products. When a project moves to the series production stage, then my focus shifts more to process optimization.
What makes working within your value stream so enjoyable?
There is a lot of room for personal growth in the value stream. Challenges are there for the taking, so no two days ever have to be the same.
What is currently your biggest challenge?
The biggest challenge at the moment is working towards the first delivery for a new project. As a team, we are working hard every day to overcome challenges in order to deliver good products efficiently!
What does working at Mogema mean to you?
At Mogema I get the opportunity to use my skills and put my own spin on my work activities. Because of this, I really enjoy going to work.
What would you say to someone interested in working within this value stream?
In the value stream Defense we really work as a team towards a shared goal. There is also a lot of attention for you as an individual and the goals you want to achieve in your career.
