At Aalberts advanced mechatronics, we are evolving by reorganizing ourselves around value streams rather than functions. In this organizational model, cross-functional teams work together from the moment a customer requests a product until the moment they receive it. This approach is helping us improve coordination between departments, keep up with growth in our industry, and better serve our customers.
In this series, we explain a bit about what each value stream is all about and how our employees are experiencing this innovative new way of working. Here we speak with Stefan Koch, service manager at ISEL, about working within the value stream Industry.

What is your role within the value stream and what are your responsibilities?

My current role is service manager and I’m responsible for managing service cases, planning service at the customers’ side, leading the service team, and trying to further the qualifications of our colleagues.

What makes working within your value stream so enjoyable?

The things that I enjoy the most about working in our value stream are the interaction I have with customers and colleagues, solving different kinds of problems, and our good working atmosphere.

What is your biggest challenge currently?

Increasing the qualifications of our colleagues so that everyone is on the same level and also processing all customer questions and inquiries in a short time.

What does working at ISEL mean to you?

To me, working at ISEL means varied work in a future-oriented technology company with an interesting and motivated team.

What would you say to someone interested in working within this value stream?

If you want to work on interesting products and technologies, find suitable solutions for different requests, and satisfy customers – come and become part of our team!
