At Aalberts advanced mechatronics, we are evolving by reorganizing ourselves around value streams rather than functions. In this organizational model, cross-functional teams work together from the moment a customer requests a product until the moment they receive it. This approach is helping us improve coordination between departments, keep up with growth in our industry, and better serve our customers.
We will explain you a bit about what each value stream is all about and how our employees are experiencing this innovative new way of working. Here we speak with Koy Lee, key account manager at IDE, about working within the value stream Lithography.
What is your role/function within the value stream and what are your responsibilities?
I am the key account manager for our key lithography customer. This involves:
- Fostering customer relationships and gaining customer intelligence.
- Understanding customer needs and harmonizing them with our capabilities to offer tailored solutions.
- Quoting, negotiating, and closing topics with commercial relevance.
What makes working within your value stream so enjoyable?
Having a joint cross-functional workspace and meeting rooms has increased efficiency and fun. Having dedicated resources from the functional departments makes work much easier. And finally, decisions are made faster than before.
What does working at IDE mean to you?
To me, working at IDE means:
- Growing alongside interesting and innovative, but also challenging customers.
- Working in an attractive growth industry.
- Great team spirit.
What would you say to someone interested in working within this value stream?
If you worked in the Lithography value stream, you would join a motivated and creative team. The kinds of interesting but challenging topics we get from customers need smart people from different backgrounds and functions that learn from each other. Finally, working here this results in personal growth.
