At Aalberts advanced mechatronics, we are evolving by reorganizing ourselves around value streams rather than functions. In this organizational model, cross-functional teams work together from the moment a customer requests a product until the moment they receive it. This approach is helping us improve coordination between departments, keep up with growth in our industry, and better serve our customers.
We will explain you a bit about what each value stream is all about and how our employees are experiencing this innovative new way of working. Here we speak with Michelle Mayer, team leader assembling at KML, about working within the value stream Semiconductor.
What is your role within the value stream and what are your responsibilities?
As a team leader in production, I ensure that my team is well organized, motivated, and efficient. I monitor production targets, ensure quality, liaise between the team and management, and ensure that production processes run smoothly and technical challenges are solved efficiently. My focus is on creating a positive working environment.
What makes working within your value stream so enjoyable?
Working here is particularly pleasant because the atmosphere is open and supportive. We focus on teamwork and there is always the opportunity to exchange ideas and find solutions together. I also appreciate the positive feedback and trust shown both within the team and by the management.
What is your biggest challenge currently?
One of my challenges is to build a bridge between my team and the management. This means clearly understanding the perspectives and needs of both sides and communicating successfully to achieve common goals. My focus is on fostering transparent communication, building trust, and ensuring that decisions reflect both the strategic needs of management and the operational reality of my team.
What does working at KML mean to you?
Working at KML means a lot to me because I feel every day how strongly values such as responsibility, integrity, and entrepreneurial spirit are practiced here. It is inspiring to be in an environment that not only motivates me to do my best, but also encourages me to learn from others and grow together. I appreciate that my ideas and skills are valued here, and I am proud to be part of a team that works towards a goal with passion and conviction every day.
What would you say to someone interested in working within this value stream?
I would tell them about how exciting it is to work in a dynamic, technical environment where teamwork and innovative solutions take center stage. It's great to work in a place where you can directly see the results of your work and make a real contribution.
